Christmas is about giving

Each year, Almoners from across the Province visit the widows of former lodge members to deliver Christmas gifts.

This year, Peacehaven Lodge’s Almoner, Les Field, took things a step further after a suggestion from his wife — a Lady Mason — to raise the bar by creating bespoke Christmas hampers with custom made Christmas cards.

The response was overwhelming. Every visit was met with genuine delight; Les was welcomed into each home for a chat and a cup of tea, even helping one lady rearrange her sideboard so she could proudly display her hamper and tell her friends just how thoughtful, kind, and generous the Freemasons are.

We would wholeheartedly recommend this approach to all the other Almoners — we have never received such positive and heartfelt feedback from the widows.
